Tripmeters for Classic motorsport
Most classic motorsport events have restrictions as to the type of tripmeter you are permitted to use, with various penalties applying dependent upon the complexity of the relevant tripmeter. Brantz make a range of tripmeters to suit any competitor - but do check with event organisers to find out what their regulations will allow.
Entry level single readout model : the same quality as all Brantz tripmeters, this has a 0.6 inch light emitting display, power switch and fuse.
International 1 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
International 2 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A highly accurate unit providing two readouts. The electronic calibration indicate hundredths of a mile/kilometre, with the added bonus of being able to shift the decimal point to give either 3 decimal places, or a maximum value of 999.9 (miles/kilometres). A remote reset button is provided as standard.
International 2'S' Pro
Similar to the International 2 but with the addition of a third window giving current or average speed.
Retrotrip 2 Classique | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A newcomer to the Brantz range featuring large readouts (it seems that some of the historic crews these days are not as young as they used to be and prefer the bigger figures!) with the two digits to the right coloured red on a white background. There is instant 'one in a thousand' calibration to cope with any wheel changes - a very accurate unit, as are all Brantz meters. The Classique can be used with a range of motion sensors; the wheel or speedometer types being the most popular. Older cars with 6v electrics or poorly performing 12v charger systems are advised to use the Brantz POWER CONDITIONER to produce a correct, reliable voltage.
Retrotrip 3 Classique | ||||
A simple evolution of the Retrotrip 2 with all the same features. The difference from the Retrotrip @2 is that it has two completely separate and independent tripmeters in the same box. One tripmeter drives the normal two counters on the top whilst the second tripmeter - with its own calibration - drives a third readout on the lower row. It is all driven from the same speedo or wheel sensor. All counters can be zero'ed independently, whilst the counter on the top row can also be disconnected via a rocker control. Once again, a POWER CONDITIONER is advisable for older cars.
Not for the classics! Brantz Laser 3 Precision Rally Computer
A highly sophisticated piece of equipment, this unit provides very accurate twin six figure distances (to three decimal places) via shiftable four digit windows. A third window provides time of day, including hundredths of a second, and two stopwatches. Speed information includes current, average and maximum speeds. Acceleration to 60, 100 and 120 mph or kph can be measured, as well as times for a standing start quarter mile or kilometre, or standing start mile or kilometre. Fuel consumption can also be measured. For organisers planning event routes, we can highly recommend the Laser 3. We have been using it for many years and find the ability to hold and freeze distances essential, as well as to reset either distance window independently.
